This product, like all western bentonite, may contain low concentrations of free crystalline silica as quartz. Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of dust. Long term (chronic) inhalation of airborne dust may result in respiratory illness such silicosis, IARC, 1997, concludes there is sufficient evidence from occupational sources that inhaled crystalline silica in the form of quartz causes cancer in humans (IARC Group that carcinogenicity was not detected in all industrial circumstances studied and that carcinogenicity may depend on characteristics of the crystalline silica or external factors affecting its biological activity.
Avoid breathing dust. Wear respirators approved for silica bearing dust.
