A soil replacement for the growing needs of orchids and other tropical plants.
Phalaenopsis, Cymbidiums, Paphiopedilum
Place the roots in the pot. The pot should be just large enough to accommodate the roots plus about 1/2” space all around them. Center the plant and hold so the junction of the roots and lower leaves are flush with the top of the pot. Loosely fill the pot to the top with bark. Tap the pot gently to settle bark and add more if needed. Gently(roots are delicate) press bark to fully settle.
Denrobiums, Cattleyas, Oncidiums
Choose a pot large enough to accommodate the plant and allow for 1 or 2 years growth. Place the older portion of the plant close to the edge of the pot, leaving room on the opposite side of the pot for new growth (these orchids tend to send out new growth on the opposite side of the old growth). Loosely fill the pot to the top with bark. Roots should be slightly exposed above the level of the bark. Tap the pot gently to settle bark and add more if needed. Gently (roots are delicate) press bark to fully settle.
